In the municipality of Caldiero, in the east of Verona, there is an important Venetian spa area.

The legend handed down the notoriety of the thermal waters of Caldiero, already known in Roman times. The “Waters of Beauty”, so called by the Romans, were used for therapeutic purposes. From 1400 onwards, when the statute of the city of Verona began to protect the thermal baths, a flourishing period began. People flocked from neighboring regions and even illustrious personalities such as Federico Gonzaga came to enjoy the sources. After 1500, the therapeutic properties of water against diseases began to be discovered. The waters have an anti-inflammatory emollient action on the epidermis with beneficial effects on dermatitis and allergies.

The spa complex is set in a natural context of rare beauty, a park with plane trees, horse chestnuts, fragrant elms and weeping willows. The baths of Juno are presented as a pleasant set of ancient structures (the pools, Cavalla and Bretella are supplied with thermal waters through numerous water springs that emerge naturally from their seabed), with modern facilities for bathing and leisure.
